Post-award
Post-award is the phase after an award is made, when teams complete requirements, documentation, scheduling, and compliance steps.
Definition
Post-award is the phase after a contract, RFQ, or funding award has been made and the real work of meeting the award’s requirements begins. In multifamily operations, it often includes confirming property-specific requirements, collecting documentation, coordinating schedules, tracking compliance steps, and keeping records current. For regulated or funded developments, post-award activities can also include required reports, certifications, agreements, amendments, and ownership-related submissions.
Example
After a property awards a landscaping RFQ, the operations team reviews the post-award requirements, confirms any additional insured entities, verifies required insurance documents, shares access instructions, schedules the start date, and stores the completed records for audit purposes.
Why It Matters?
Post-award work is where an award turns into accountable execution. Clear post-award controls help operations leaders reduce missed requirements, avoid compliance gaps, coordinate vendors and site teams, and maintain a reliable record of what was completed and when.
