Definition

A single-family rental (SFR) is a detached or attached one-unit home operated as a rental property. SFR homes may be scattered across neighborhoods or grouped in rental communities. Compared with a multifamily property, each home usually has its own lease, rent collection, maintenance needs, and resident relationship.
