Central queue
A central queue is a shared worklist for leads, resident requests, and handoffs so centralized teams can triage and assign work.
Definition
A central queue is a shared worklist where incoming leads, resident questions, service requests, or automated handoffs are collected for a centralized team. Instead of work staying with one property or inbox, items are visible in one place and can be filtered, assigned, or routed based on ownership, urgency, capacity, or property group. The goal is to make incoming work easier to see, prioritize, and complete across a portfolio.
Example
A resident emails about a missing package after hours. The message is captured as a task in the central queue with the resident’s conversation history and community attached, so the morning support team can review it, assign ownership, respond in-thread, and close the task once resolved.
Why It Matters?
For multifamily operations leaders, a central queue helps prevent work from being buried in property-specific inboxes or informal handoffs. It supports faster triage, clearer accountability, and more consistent follow-up across communities. Without clear queue ownership, centralized teams can create delays even when all work is technically visible.
