In-person tour

An in-person tour is an on-site apartment visit guided by staff, used to show units, amenities, and community experience to prospects.

Definition

An in-person tour is a scheduled, on-site visit where a prospect views an apartment community, units, and amenities. It is typically guided by a leasing team member who greets the prospect, may verify identification, and walks them through the property. Unlike virtual or self-guided tours, the prospect and staff member are physically present at the community.

Example

A prospect books a 2:00 p.m. in-person tour. Before arrival, the team provides parking instructions, the leasing office meeting location, and arrival directions; during the visit, a leasing agent greets the prospect and shows the available unit, lobby, fitness center, and package area.

Why it matters

In-person tours are a key leasing conversion moment because they let teams answer questions, tailor the visit to the prospect’s needs, and create a clear first impression of the community. Operations leaders need consistent scheduling rules, staffing coverage, arrival instructions, and tour capacity settings so on-site teams can deliver reliable experiences without overbooking.
