Integration

Integration is the connection between software systems so data can move between them automatically instead of being re-entered by staff. In multifamily operations, integrations often connect property management, leasing, CRM, inspections, maintenance, reporting, and knowledge systems. The term can mean anything from a manual file export to real-time two-way data sync, so teams should confirm what data moves, how often, in which direction, and what still requires manual work.

A resident’s move-out date is entered in the property management system. An integrated inspections system automatically schedules the move-out inspection, then sends completed inspection reports or related tasks back as resident records or work orders.

Integration affects staffing efficiency, data accuracy, reporting reliability, and how quickly teams can act. Strong integrations reduce duplicate entry and tab-switching, while shallow or delayed connections can create mismatched records, missed workflow steps, and manual follow-up for site teams.
