Resident care

Resident care is how multifamily teams manage resident questions, service requests, updates, escalations, and feedback across the resident journey.

Definition

Resident care is the organized way a multifamily operator supports residents after they become part of the community. It includes answering questions, handling service requests, sending community updates, routing escalations, and collecting feedback across channels like text, email, and voice. In multifamily, it is usually about service and resident experience—not clinical or assisted-living care.

Example

A resident texts that their dishwasher is leaking. The request is captured, triaged, turned into a work order if staff action is needed, and the resident receives updates until the issue is resolved.

Why it matters

Resident care matters because every interaction—from move-in to maintenance to move-out—shapes the resident experience. Clear resident care workflows help teams respond consistently, reduce delays and handoff errors, and decide which tasks should be handled onsite, centrally, or through automation.
