A garden-style apartment is a low-rise multifamily building type, typically no more than three or four stories, with multiple apartments per story and landscaped grounds around the buildings. Units often have exterior entrances through breezeways, stairwells, or short interior hallways, and these communities commonly use surface parking and have no elevators. Garden-style communities are often arranged in a campus-like layout with courtyards, green space, or buildings spread across a larger site.
