Task Automation

Task automation is the use of software to handle repeatable, rule-based work with less manual effort. In multifamily operations, it can trigger next steps, route requests, assign work, send reminders, update statuses, and track completion across leasing, resident services, maintenance, and renewals. It is different from simple task tracking because the system can prompt or perform parts of the workflow automatically.

When a resident submits notice that they plan to move out, task automation can collect required move-out details, create a staff task to update the resident record, send the notice form for signature, and show whether the document is still outstanding.

Task automation helps operations leaders reduce administrative handoffs, improve follow-through, and keep work visible across centralized and on-site teams. It can also support faster response times and fewer missed steps during high-volume processes like maintenance coordination, renewals, and unit turns.
