Unit Inspection

A unit inspection is a documented walkthrough of an apartment home to check its condition, safety, and needed repairs. Teams use unit inspections for events such as move-in, move-out, annual checks, due diligence, or final turn approval. The inspection records findings by area or item, notes required corrections, and may trigger follow-up work orders.

After a resident moves out, a supervisor schedules a unit inspection using a standard checklist. The inspector notes damaged flooring, adds photos, and records an appliance issue; those deficiencies become follow-up work orders for the turn team.

Unit inspections give operations leaders a consistent record of unit condition across properties. They help teams catch repair needs earlier, support resident charge decisions when appropriate, track turn readiness, and create accountability for follow-up work.
